The Farmville Town Council meeting this month was a brief formality. All of the business put before the council, aside from a grievance from Mr. Dunnavant of the Experimental Aircraft Association over a proposed $150.00 fee for the use of the municipal hanger, was seemingly “pushed through.” Town Manager Gerald Spates addressed the issue concerning the EAA’s use of the hangar, saying, “The fee is just to keep us from double booking the facility, we haven’t charged the fee to this point, I don’t see us charging the EAA in the future.”
The speediness of the meeting was due evidently to the need for a closed session to discuss a legal matter. There was no other comment or reason offered.
