Entrapment, Serious Injuries for Victoria Man

LUNENBURG – A Victoria man suffered serious injuries last Thursday morning after crashing into a tree along Route 49 (Courthouse Road) between Lunenburg and Chase City.

entrapment-1The driver in this single vehicle accident was identified as Arthur W. Ogden of Victoria and there were no passengers in the truck or other vehicles involved.

Ogden was traveling along Route 49 approximately eight-tenths of a mile from the intersection with Route 633 (Rocky Mill Road) at 9:40 a.m. when the wreck took place. Virginia State Police Trooper Hudson worked the scene of the accident and said that the 2010 Ford Ranger driven by Ogden ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

Speed was not a factor in the accident. Chase City Volunteer Fire Department and CC Rescue Squad responded to the accident, secured the vehicle that was unstable and removed Ogden, who was trapped in the truck. At that point they treated and then transported him for treatment of serious injuries.

Lunenburg County Sheriffs Office, Virginia State Police and Virginia State Police Med flight all helped work and assist the scene of the accident.
