FARMVILLE – Farmville officials recently announced that the town’s Emergency Communication Center is now using a new software that provides 911 dispatchers with instant lifesaving advice in emergency situations.

“Total Response software provides our Communications Center with pre-arrival instructions and protocols for over 75 types of emergencies, including strokes, heart attacks, allergic reactions, rescues, overdoses, and childbirth. The software, working with our current Central Square Zuercher CAD, prompts the dispatcher through brief standardized scripts based on information given by a caller. In addition, the software can be updated with additional information gathered by responders at the scene.”

Farmville officials stated, “With this tool, we have already seen improvements to the time it takes to assign and respond to a call.  With those improved times, we are sending responders with more information.”
