The Prince Edward Eagles would get a big win over Nandua early in the Sectional Boys Basketball Playoffs before bowing out with a loss to undefeated George Mason.

The Eagles would take on Nandua to open Sectional play and they got off to a fast start with even scoring from Zarius Jones, Marty Blount, Kevon Braxton and Quan Nash. PE jumped ahead 19-14 and then had an even better second quarter to move ahead 40-28 at halftime.

The third quarter would be all Eagles again as they used strong defense and inside scoring to extend their lead by seven more points. PE would get great bench contributions as well down the stretch as they got the 68-49 victory over Nandua.

Leading the team in scoring was Jones (18 points), Blount (11 points). Braxton (15 points, 8 rebounds), and Nash (11 points).

The quarterfinals would find PE traveling to George Mason where they faced a team without a loss this entire season. PE fell behind early in the first half and trailed by a 31-19 score. PE would battle back in the third quarter as they outscored George Mason and trailed 43-33 going into the fourth quarter, but George Mason got hot from the field and went on to a 61-43 victory to end the season for the Eagles.
