Charlotte Co. Sheriff’s Dept. Investigating Keysville B&E

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department is investigating several daylight residential breaking and entering incidents that occurred earlier this week.

These are a few of the items recovered by police from recent robberies in the Keysville area.

Although the sheriff’s department released few details of the crimes as of press time, investigators with the department did confirm that multiple separate breaking and entering incidents occurred on Monday, October 19 in Keysville.

A home on Route 40 was broken into, and numerous items were taken sometime during the day. Criminals also attempted to break into a residence on King Street in Keysville by using a hammer to gain entry through the back door of the home. According to reports they were unsuccessful in gaining entry.

According to the sheriff’s department, several stolen items were recovered on Tuesday from Mecklenburg County. Other stolen items were recovered Wednesday.

The sheriff’s department is also investigating a residential breaking and entering that occurred on October 15 on Mt. Harmony Road in the Eureka Community. Details of this crime were unavailable.

Additionally there have been several other daylight breaking and entering cases in Prince Edward County in the past two weeks.

As of Wednesday morning, the sheriff’s department was interviewing a potential suspect but no arrests have been made.

The Sheriff’s office strongly recommends locking doors and taking other steps to protect property.
