LUNENBURG – The Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce has been naming a “Business of the Month” winner recently as part of some new programs and ideas for the group, but they are now turning their attention to some traditional awards given out by the group. The group is currently taking nominations to once again honor their Citizen and Business of the Year award winners.

The closing date on nominations is set for this Friday, November 6, 2015. Chamber members are still looking for community businesses and people who are important to the community and worthy of the title of business or citizen of the year.

The Business of the Year award is based on criteria such as history, growth and economical impact, response to adversity and contributions to the community.

The Citizen of the Year award is considered for individuals who have supported and advanced the interest of the business community as well as offered voluntary efforts, support in the community and accomplishments.

The organization hosts the winners of these awards during a banquet dinner sponsored by the group each year..

Submissions need to be turned in to a Chamber member or sent to the Lunenburg County Chamber of Commerce by November 6th. Contact info for the Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce can be found at www.lunenburgchamber.org or contact John Webb at 434-696-2114.
