Central Girls Beat Lady Bulldogs

The Central Chargers Girls Basketball team traveled to Goochland last Wednesday night to face the Lady Bulldogs.  The Lady Chargers started out hot opening up a 12-3 lead after the first quarter and stretched their lead to 15 at the half (24-9).

Goochland would come out in the second half with a nine point run to close the score to within six points (24-18). However the Lady Chargers responded with a 9-3 run to widen their lead after three quarters of play. With a 33-21 score in favor of the Chargers,  Central would continue strong play on both ends of the court as they outscored the Lady Bulldogs 10-2 to go on to get a 43-23 victory.

Bri’Anna Johnson posted a double-double with 12 points and 22 rebounds.  TanJaNeka White-Freeman led the Lady Chargers in scoring with 14 points as she shot 50 percent from the field.  She also led the team in steals with 4.  Brittany Dolan and Ashley Ellis led the team in assists with three.  Ashley Genova rounded out the stat leaders with three blocks.
