Barksdale Foundation Announces Scholarship Winner

Wayland Goode of Drakes Branch was the winner of this year’s Barksdale Cancer Foundation scholarship. He is a 2015 graduate of Randolph-Henry High School and will enter the University of Virginia in the fall, pursuing a career in the medical field, with emphasis on cancer research. The foundation awards a $1,000 scholarship each year to a graduating student from the county going into some area of medicine, preferably in the oncology profession.
