Allie Hazel Womack Wallace was born October 7, 1946, to the union of George Monroe Womack and Elnora Goldsberry Womack in Lunenburg County, Virginia. Allie was the seventh of 11 children born to this union. Allie was preceded in homegoing by her mother, Elnora, father, George, sister, Geneaver, and brother, Daniel. She is a class of 1965 graduate of Lunenburg High School in Victoria, Virginia where she was a four-year basketball star (MVP in her Junior year, and Best Performance in her Senior Year), the first of two females to take Shop and graduated eighth academically in her class. She also was active in the school choir.

Growing up on a sharecropper farm, Allie was known to do many things around the farm that were typically to be done by the boys, like driving the farm tractor, hanging tobacco in the barn and many other tasks after her older brothers left the farm for a better life up north or in the military.

At a young age, Allie united with the Flat Rock Baptist Church, Kenbridge, Va., where she was active in the Junior choir. Her humble beginning in the church was the foundation of her faith, her walk with and work in the service of the Lord. After moving to New Jersey, she united with the New Hope Baptist Church of Newark, and some years later with Liberty Temple in Orange, NJ, where she was an active member: Youth Sunday School Teacher (12 years), Choir and Praise Leader, Bible Teacher, Organizer and Coordinator of the Couples and Family ministries, Girls Youth ministry (AWYL) and Business Administrator. She graduated from the Universal Church of Christ, Inc. Bible institute and was ordained as an Elder in August 1991. After several years of ministry, she co-founded HARVESTERS OF SOULS Outreach Ministry with her husband; meeting souls where they were and nourishing their growth by feeding them with the Word and some of their other needs. She opened their home as a place of worship and refuge. Allie loved following in the footsteps of her mother and spent a lot of time doing missionary work, helping the less fortunate, counseling with girls and young women and visiting the sick and shut in.

A casual meeting of Charles Wallace on a train in 1978 seven years later turned into a love affair, an engagement and marriage on June 9, 1985 during their 11:00 worship service. They were married for 33 years before the Lord called Charles home on March 7, 2019.

After graduating high school, Allie moved to New Jersey where she was employed in many different occupations: presser- garment district, assembler-electronic factory, assembler-organ factory, supermarket-first female produce worker. In 1968 she began her employment with Blue Cross and Blue Shield where she held 11 different positions and ending a 32-year career as an Internal Control Analyst. For several years, between outside employments, Allie’s hobby as a seamstress became her job. She loved to sew, and many people benefited from it.

Allie returned to school in Sept. 2000 and in May of 2002 she received her AA in Business Administration from Essex County College. She then returned to work as a substitute teacher in the NJ Public School system until her retirement.

On April 27, 2020, God called home to rest in His arms, His servant, Allie, where she will be at peace.

She leaves fond memories with her family: six brothers, Alphonse-Massachusetts, George Jr.- New Jersey, John Sr.-Florida, Sherman-Massachusetts, Jerry-North Carolina, Gregory-Richmond; two sisters, Ecynthia Hardee-New York, Janette Beaubian-Arizona; two brothers-in-law, Glenn Beaubian and William Wallace; six sisters-in-law: Joyce, Bertha, Ilene, Iris, Kathy, and Avis; three step daughters, Kelly, Joy, and Shonda; 24 nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

Considering the pandemic that we are facing; the family will be holding a Memorial Service at some point in the future when we all can gather safely to celebrate Allie’s exceptional life together.

She leaves with us her favorites:
