Yo Mama in Stump County Where Nobody Agrees with Him

The folks at the Southside Messenger Newspaper (who are probably real) pass on messages to us here in imaginary Stump County. They said a lady called them and asked what ever happened to Yo Mama.  If they were asking about my mama, she’s doing fine; if they were asking about Yo Mama, the President of the whole dadgum new-nited states, well, he’s still President.

He listens to his friends and thinks everybody agrees with him and them.  It reminds me of Old Ray Steven’s friend Bill.  After Ray got beat up, beat down, broke up and broke down by that rassler The Blue Cyclone, Bill’s famous line was, “Right on Man, I’d do the same durn thing if it’d been me.” Well, Ray did “the same durn thing again” and got beat up again.

Yo Mama’s in the same boat.  He said, “We need healthcare for the universe.”  His friends and advisors said, “Right on, Man. We’d do the same durn thing if we was you.”  He said, “We need to do a ‘bucks for buckboards’ to stimulate the wagon industry.”  His friends and advisors said, “Right on, Man. We’d do the same durn thing if we was you.”  He said, “We need to raise taxes.” His friends and advisors said, “Right on, Man. We’d do the same durn thing if we was you.”  Yo Mma said, “We need a crap and trade bill.” And his friends and advisors said, “Right on, Man. We’d do the same durn thing if we was you.”

What he and his friends don’t seem to realize is Yo Mama and his friends and advisors only talk to folks who agree with them and with each other. They each survey 100 folks and they all say yes. Then they all bring in the surveys and decide it means 10,000 folks support them.  What they don’t realize is they all surveyed each other.

It isn’t just them, it seems that all of the politicians are doing the same thing.  The Republi-cons only talk to other Republi-cons and they think everybody agrees with them.  The Democ-rats only talk to other Democ-rats and they think everybody agrees with them.

Well, there is a whole passel of us that don’t give a rat’s behind about the cons or care to be conned by a rat. All we want to do is work, take care of our families and pay our bills.  All we know for sure is no one has ever asked us what we think about all this spending and taxing.  If they had they would know we are against it.

If Yo Mama doesn’t start paying attention to what the folks who aren’t his friends and advisors are saying about taxes, healthcare, crap and trade and a whole bunch of other things, in less than three years he is going to be telling his friends and advisors, “I think I need to look for a job. I just got fired.”  And his friends and advisors are going to say, “Right on Man. We’re gonna do the same durn thing.”
