“Our mission is not to compete with the Church, it is to complement the Church,” Wanda Stewart smiled pleasantly as she spoke. “Our hope is to transform families, transform lives.” The other ladies in the room collectively nodded their approval. Transformation is, indeed, what the “320 Group” is about.

The 320 Group takes their name from Ephesians 3:20; “Now all Glory to God, who is able, through his mighty Power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or hope.” It is a non-denominational, multi-ethnic, prayer and Bible study group that is being formed by Wanda Stewart and a few of her close friends and neighbors. Meetings will begin at Ms. Stewart’s house, but the group is already making contingency plans for larger meeting facilities, anticipating the group will grow.

The 320 Group will be making use of materials provided by Community Bible Study, an interdenominational organization in existence since 1975. Today there are some 700 CBS classes throughout the United States, all teaching within the historic mainstream of Christianity.

The preliminary organizational meeting held on Tuesday evening was attended by Lorraine Smith, Lorriane Agee, Lorraine Johnson, Jessica Laubach, Anne Vilushi and Wanda Smith. The excitement and enthusiasm over the upcoming class was clearly evident in them all.

The 320 Group will commence on September 16th , and will continue with weekly Tuesday evening meetings through May, from 7:00  until 8:30 p.m. Women that are interested in attending should contact either Wanda Stewart at (434)547-4405 or Anne Vilushi at (434)665-7363.
