Slayton remains as Vice Chairman

The Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors held their annual reorganizational meeting last Thursday night and the group stuck with a past pattern of choosing a Chairman and Vice Chairman for consecutive years.

P--Wingold will continueThe first order of business was to name the Chairman, as David Wingold was the only nomination for the position. He was quickly and unanimously approved to remain in that spot for 2016. He then opened the floor for nominations of the Vice Chairman and Randy Slayton was quickly nominated and unanimously approved.

Last year, Supervisor Slayton looked to be next in line to take over the Chairman position after having served as Vice Chairman when Edward Pennington was the Chairman, but Slayton suggested that Wingold would be a good fit as Chairman because of time commitments required for that position.

Wingold had recently retired prior to that nomination and now continues to help lead the group for his second year.

The re-elected members of the Board of Supervisors were also sworn in by Lunenburg Clerk of the Court Gordon Derby. Those members were Alvester Edmonds, Edward Pennington, Randy Slayton and David Wingold.
