Walmart Incidents have Police Reminding People to be Vigilant

BLACKSONE – Recent reports in the Blackstone area have people hopefully being more aware of their surroundings and also to look out for anyone nearby that may be having an issue.

The Blackstone Police Department issued the following statement about two situations at Walmart in the town.

“In two separate incidents, two local women reported being approached by two to four unknown men in the parking lot of Walmart and Chubby’s on South Main Street. The men’s actions were both concerning and alarming. They may have been travelling in a white-colored Denali.

“Since these incidents occurred around a parking lot, you may be able to limit risk by parking closer to the store when possible, park in a well lit area in the evening, and be alert and return to the store if you notice someone that you are not familiar with near or around your vehicle.

“In light of these incidents, we would like to remind residents to be vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious persons or activity.”
