VPD Arrests Man Wanted for Rape in Charlotte

VICTORIA – The Victoria Police Department recently apprehended a man wanted for forcible rape and abduction charges in Charlotte County.

Dustin Daniel of Blackstone, Virginia has been wanted by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department on the above felony charges, and early last week one of the Victoria Police Department Officers spotted Daniel in Victoria.

VPD Chief Keith Phillips said that Officer Greg Wallace was off duty, but noticed Daniel driving in the town. He alerted Officer Matthew Gatling who initiated a traffic stop on the van that Daniel was driving.

Daniel attempted to give Officer Gatling false information, but he was arrested and taken to Piedmont Regional Jail.

Daniel faces charges of forcible rape, abduction, giving false identification to an officer and driving on a suspended license.
