MECKLENBURG – An incident along 1-85 in Mecklenburg County has authorities looking for shooters that struck two vehicles on Sunday night.
According to information from the South Hill Police Department, a 9-1-1 call came into police officers on Sunday, November 13th around 11:00 p.m. with reports of a vehicle being shot. The caller noted that vehicle they were in was being shot and struck.
Approximately 15 minutes later, a second call came into authorities from a different vehicle that had also been shot at and struck.
South Hill Police Department officials say that both vehicles had been traveling I-85 southbound near the 14-mile marker. Each of the vehicles was hit in the front passenger side window.
The South Hill Police Department, Mecklenburg Sheriff’s Office, and Virginia State Police conducted a search of the area but no suspect(s) were located. However, there was evidence collected during the search and investigation.
