wreck1On Sunday, April 27, at approximately 4:35 p.m., the intersection of Hwy. 15 and Four Locust Hwy. in Keysville saw a significant amount of action that resulted in five people being injured.

Wallace E. Charneco of Keysville was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 15, when the 2008 Kia he was driving collided with a burgundy Equinox driven by Angela Yancey of Clarksville. Yancey was heading south on Route 15 when the crash occurred.

Five people were injured in the incident, including two in the Kia driven by Charneco and three in the Equinox driven by Yancey.

Four ambulances responded on scene, two from Meherrin Fire & Rescue and two from Charlotte Fire & Rescue.

Charges are still pending in this incident.

A separate incident occurred on Friday, April 25, at the intersection of Hwy. 40 and Hwy. 47 involving a 2007 Thomas school bus. The bus was stopped at a stop sign at the Charlotte Court House intersection around 4:25 p.m., when Keith A. Foisy, 39, of Brookneal, momentarily took his eyes off the road.

As a result, Foisy ran into the back of the bus, causing his 1998 Oldsmobile to become wedged under the school bus, driven by Toni C. Whirley.

Foisy was charged with following too close. Virginia State Trooper J.D. Gregory was the investigating officer in both incidents.
