VICTORIA – Last Saturday night was the first ever truck and tractor pull event held in Victoria as part of the Autumn Days festivities. Victoria Fire and Rescue organized and hosted the event and while it was designed as a fundraiser for the group, it was also brought to the area to add even more activities for local families and visitors.

Entrants in the Victoria Fire and Rescue Truck/Tractor pull on Saturday ranged from road ready trucks to machines like “Pull N Time” that are made specifically for these types of events. For more photos of this event, go to southsidemessengerphotos.shutterfly.com.

The local emergency services group works extremely hard daily in order to help protect families from fire and during medical emergency situations and many supporters showed up to return that help during the great show.

With many different classes of tractors and trucks, ranging from antique and street legal to vehicles designed specifically to pull in these events, the crowd saw a unique and exciting pull.

The grandstands as well as the sides of the track were full of fans and the event featured drivers from this area, and as far away as Elizabeth City, North Carolina. With the overall success and participation of this event, Victoria Fire and Rescue organizers have indicated that they look forward to continuing with others like this in the future.

Victoria Fire and Rescue ran 93 calls in the month of September alone, highlighting the importance of this group to local citizens and also the importance of helping support them.
