A Keysville man received minor injuries last Wednesday evening when his vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer.
According to the State Police, Joseph H. Bentley, Jr., age 57, was driving on Route 40. He slowed to make a left hand turn just past the John H. Daniel Campus of SVCC on County Line Road (Rt. 628). As Bentley turned left, a tractor-trailer behind him attempted to pass on the left, striking Bentley’s 1979 Ford F100 in the rear, spinning the Ford into a fence. The tractor-trailer came to a stop a few hundred feet further down Rt. 40.
The tractor-trailer, a 2000 Peterbilt, was driven by Marshall E. Saton, Jr., age 52 of Rocky Mount, Va. Saton was charged with improper passing. He was not injured.
Trooper D.A. Thompson is investigating the incident.
