Tri-County Drug and Gang Task Force Busts Keysville Area Meth Lab

KEYSVILLE – On May 24, the Tri-County Drug and Gang Task Force, comprised of narcotics investigators from the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia Department of State Police, conducted an investigation of a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in the Keysville area of Lunenburg County. The search resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and precursor chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Task force investigators have received specialized training from the Drug Enforcement Administration to dismantle and recover evidence in hazardous clandestine laboratory environments. Deputies from the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office, Special Agents from the VSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Appomattox Field Office, and the Lunenburg County Department of Social Services assisted in the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and arrests are pending.
