Trash Truck Trashed; Driver Injured

A Charlotte County man was injured last Thursday when the garbage truck he was driving overturned.

According to the State Police, Ronald E. Taylor, age 63 of Charlotte Court House, was driving a 2006 Sterling garbage truck on Route 47 (Thomas Jefferson Highway) in the Cullen area of Charlotte County. As he approached the intersection of Wards Fork Mill Road, the car in front of him stopped to make a left hand turn. Taylor swerved to the right to avoid rear-ending the car and ran off the right shoulder and down an embankment, where the truck overturned.

Taylor received minor injuries and was transported to Centra Southside Community Hospital. He was charged with following too closely.
