DowdycruteFARMVILLE – The Longwood Center of Visual Arts invites you to its 2018 biennial winter gala on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

The widely anticipated winter gala is the best attended event of its kind in the region. All proceeds support the LCVA’s community outreach programs, which includes exhibitions, community programming and outreach activities in area schools.

The theme of this year’s gala reflects the LCVA’s role in the community. LCVA is a place of welcome, as conveyed through the hospitality pineapple—a widely recognized symbol of welcome.

A limited number of early entry ticket packages and individual tickets are now for sale online. You can now purchase tickets online by visiting https://one.bidpal.net/lcvagala/ticketing, or by contacting LCVA Program Coordinator Lucy Carson at carsonlb@longwood.edu or 434.395.2390.

The $275 early entry ticket package includes two tickets and an hour early entry to the gala at 7p.m. Individual tickets are also on for sale for $125 each.

Attendees at the creative black-tie fundraiser will delight in an elegant evening while enjoying heavy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, and live music with Richmond’s own En’Novation. In addition to the very popular silent auction, this year LCVA is delighted to showcase a few of the most sought after items in a live auction the night of the event. Gala sponsors have the opportunity to join us one hour in advance of the gala opening for an exclusive sponsors-only reception.

Charles H. Dowdy III and Candice J. Dowdy are co-chairs of the 2016 Winter Gala, and proud sponsors of the LCVA’s winter gala since its inception in 2005. They noted, “The LCVA serves many rural counties and is a star that must be continued into the future.”

The biennial event will be held from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. in the Blackwell Ballroom of the Maugans Alumni Center on Longwood University’s campus in Farmville, Virginia.

The LCVA fosters creativity and involvement in the visual arts through its exhibitions, educational programs, permanent collection, and volunteer and internship programs. Admission to the center and its programs is free.

“Longwood and the LCVA are such vital parts of the community with many beneficial opportunities for everyone. We are proud to offer our support,” said 2018 winter gala sponsors David and Patricia Crute. “We always enjoy the camaraderie we find at the LCVA.”
Also available are tax-deductible sponsorship packages. Gala sponsors have the opportunity to arrive at the gala one hour in advance of its opening for an exclusive reception. More information may be found at www.lcva.longwood.edu.
