The Future of America

We just spent a week on vacation at the beach.  My beach week includes playing in the water, eating fresh seafood, meditating, eating fresh seafood, having my annual dose of television, eating fresh seafood and so on.

In addition to eating seafood I also enjoy watching the young wait staff.  Anytime I see a young person working (particularly in a restaurant) I know I am probably seeing a future successful American.

Restaurants require hard work, a good attitude and provide a lesson in human behavior.  Hungry humans show a different side of themselves to waitresses and waiters.

Watch how a date or a potential business associate treats waitresses and you will learn an important lesson about their character.

Last week I ate lunch five times at Becks in Calabash, North Carolina.  My parents took me there my first time in 1955 when I was six months old and I have been eating there ever since.  If you are near Myrtle Beach go to Becks. The food and prices are good.  The hushpuppies are great as is the Key Lime pie.

I also see future successful Americans everywhere, at fast food restaurants and other places. The younger they are working the better their chance of success.

Some will go on to college, others to trade schools or the military but those first jobs are critical.

Four years of college doesn’t guarantee maturity but working does.
