Teen killed in Green Bay ATV Accident

PRINCE EDWARD – A Nottoway County teen was killed on Sunday, March 5 in an ATV accident. The victim was Janet Driver, a Nottoway high school senior who was just months away from graduation.

The 17-year-old Driver was driving a 2014 Suzuki ATV along Route 713 near Green Bay in Prince Edward County when it ran off the left side of the road and overturned several times and struck several trees before finally coming to a stop.

A 14-year-old passenger on the vehicle was thrown from the ATV. Driver was transported to Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, where she died from injuries sustained in the accident. The passenger was flown to VCU Medical Center and treated for serious injuries. Neither one of them was wearing a helmet.

Driver was reportedly planning to join the military following graduation from Nottoway High School this year. She is the second Nottoway student, along with Josh Baughan, to have been killed in an accident over the last several months.
