Task Force Takes Down Eight on Drug Related Charges

LUNENBURG – The Tri-County Drug and Gang Task Force, which is comprised of narcotics investigators from the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, and the Virginia State Police has been extremely busy over the past two weeks. This group has teamed up with members of the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office as they worked in unison in order to serve multiple indictments on drug and firearms violations.

The Tri-County Drug and Gang Task Force arrested the following individuals: Sidney Pernell (Manufacture Marijuana, Possession of Firearm by Felon, and Possession of Firearm with >1 pound of Marijuana), Mitchell Alan Shelton (Distribution of Marijuana), Lewis Norman Cochran (Distribution of Marijuana), Rondreyvous V. Smith (Distribution of Schedule I or II Narcotic), Justin Holliday (Distribution of Marijuana), Brandon Thomas Farnsworth (Possession of Schedule II and Possession of Ammunition by Felon), Kamekia Davis Farnsworth (Possession of Schedule II and Possession of Ammunition by Felon), and James Smith (Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana)

The groups continue their focus and hard work on helping stem the illegal drug activity in the area that is a dangerous problem. Sheriff Townsend further encourages the citizens of Lunenburg to be aware of the dangers of drug abuse.
