Tanner’s Grocery Reopening Soon

There’s a hint that something is going to happen over at Tanner’s Grocery. The little white convenience store on the other side of the college (headed toward Victoria on 40) has been closed the last few months. It doesn’t look like it is going to stay that way though.

Actually, Tanner’s is going to be reopening soon, and when it does it will be called Poppa’s Market.

It gets better, too. Paul and Christine Lovell from Powhatan, Virginia will be running the show there. Mr. Lovell, alias Chef Paul, is the culinary commander of Poppa’z Lunchbox, a big bright yellow food trailer that will be operating on the premises, as well.

Plans are to have a propane refill station and gasoline available, as well as the lottery and the rest of the usual merchandise. Chef Paul is going to have Poppa’z Lunchbox open, too. Paul and Christine haven’t nailed down a Grand Opening Day as yet, but it is in the very near future.
