Suspended Sentence Revoked Because Defendant Applies for Welfare Benefits

Junior Weaver, also known as Pellon Keaton, a 49 year-old  man formerly of Kenbridge, will spend another year in jail as the result of violating a court order that he not apply for welfare benefits after having been convicted of Welfare Fraud in 2012.

According to Commonwealth’s Attorney, Weaver served 11 months in jail on two convictions of False Application and two convictions of Fraud by False Information as a result of applying for benefits under two different names, Junior Weaver and Pellon Keaton.  One of his conditions of the remaining 11 years of his suspended sentence was to not apply for benefits as well as staying out of Lunenburg County.  On October 22, 2014, the defendant walked into the Lunenburg County Department of Social Services and filled out an application.

After Weaver serves his additional one year, his remaining 10 years are suspended upon conditions of supervised probation, restitution, warrantless searches and seizures, and staying out of Lunenburg County.
