Surveillance Cameras Capture Shoplifter

VICTORIA – A Kenbridge woman is facing felony shoplifting charges after being apprehended by Victoria Police Officers.

Patricia Garland has been charged with felony shoplifting after being caught on two separate occasions (Jan. 26 and Jan. 31) taking a large quantity of items from Food Lion in Victoria.

Chief Phillips said that a new and updated surveillance camera system helped in not only seeing Garland take the items, but also in capturing her vehicle on camera as well.

Garland was allegedly taking Food Lion bags back to the aisle areas where she would fill them with items before leaving the store as if they had been bagged and paid for.

Chief Phillips said that his officers were able to get footage that identified Garland and the vehicle she was driving. They used that to track her down and ultimately make an arrest.
