The Statesmen Varsity Baseball picked up two more wins last week to make their record 14-2 now. The Statesmen got wins against Appomattox and Prince Edward.
On Monday, the Statesmen took on Appomattox in a non-district game. The Statesmen jumped out front early and cruised to a 10-0 win. Offensively, the Statesmen were led by Josh Jones, Raleigh Duffer and Grayson Crawford. They each recorded two hits. On the mound the Statesmen got a great performance from Cameron Vassar as he went 5 innings giving up no runs. Bradford Webb came on for one scoreless inning.
On Thursday, the Statesmen welcomed Prince Edward to town for a district game. Once again the Statesmen jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. The Statesmen cruised to a 10-0 victory. Offensively, the Statesmen were led by Josh Jones, Cameron Vassar, and Grayson Crawford. Josh Jones hit his 3rd homerun of the season. On the mound the Statesmen got a strong performance out of Bradford Webb. Webb pitched a complete game shut-out.
The Statesmen finish the regular season this week. They are home Thursday for the season finale.
