Spelling E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-C-E

The Charlotte County Spelling Bee was held on January 15, 2014 at Central Middle School. Bacon District was represented by Ta’maris Duncan, Emmalee Kerrick and Caleb Tucker. The representatives from Central Middle School were Cy Brooks and Alexa Moore. Participants from Eureka Elementary included Oneisha Clark and Nora Poling. Kendric Waller and Aiden Bryant represented Phenix Elementary School. The judges were Mrs. Sharon Hall, Mrs. Amy Moore and Mr. Eddie Pyle. Ms. Michelle Hassell served as caller and coordinator of the event. After several rounds of exciting competition, 8th grader Alexa Moore was declared the champion and 5th grader Oneisha Clark was declared the runner-up. Alexa Moore will now go on to represent Charlotte County in the Richmond Times Dispatch Regional Spelling Bee which will be held in March. Congratulations to all of these students for their accomplishments.
