Social Media Responses Aid in Recent Robbery Investigation

Social media responsesMECKLENBURG – The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office asked for help in solving a crime recently and people on social media responded in helping them, leading to an arrest.

MSO officials stated, “The suspect from Friday night’s incident at the Triangle Grocery #1 in Boydton was arrested Sunday, February 18, 2018, with the assistance of the Chase City Police Department, without resistance. The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the community for your support and help in identifying the suspect.”

The initial incident took place on February 16, 2018, at approximately 6:54 p.m. An unknown white male suspect entered the Triangle Grocery #1 in Boydton to rob this business. An undisclosed amount of money was taken. The suspect fled in a burgundy truck with industrial equipment in the bed of the truck.

The suspect’s description was a white male believed to be between 30 and 40 years of age with black or brown hair and beard. He was wearing a light blue, short sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and hat.

The picture that accompanied this information led to several responses and ultimately an arrest.
