Soccer Team to Host Alumni Game April 5

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – The Hampden-Sydney Soccer team will host its annual alumni game on April 5 at 11 a.m. on the Hellmuth-Pritzlaff Turf Field. A post game reception will be provided in Snyder Hall, located in the Kirk Athletic Center, and you can help cheer on the baseball and lacrosse teams afterwards. All alumni are welcomed to attend even if they do not want to play in the game.

This year’s team went undefeated at home (6-0-2) for the first time in school history. The Tigers posted the third lowest goals against average in the league at 0.68 and allowed just two goals at home all season. This year saw a record average attendance and the night games saw an average crowd of just fewer than 500 a game. The 2014 rendition of the squad will have several outstanding upperclassmen, but the team will still be mostly underclassmen with 13 sophomores and what is expected to be a strong recruiting class.
