Single-Car Crash Leaves Driver in Critical Condition

Virginia State Police Trooper A.S. Trombley is investigating a single-vehicle crash in Prince Edward County. The crash occurred Saturday, April 15, at 6 a.m., on Route 604 less than a mile east of Route 686.  A 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling east on Route 604. As it came through a curve, it ran off the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected, which caused the pickup truck to cross back over the travel lanes, run off the left side, overturn and strike several trees.  The driver, Heaven L.J. Strockbine, 21, of Charlotte Court House, Va., was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt.  Strockbine was charged with failure to maintain control. The crash remains under investigation.
