Shots Fired in Keysville

Over the past few weeks the Charlotte County Sheriff’s office has received several late night complaints regarding gunfire in the 8000 block of Church Street in Keysville. The Sheriff’s office received another call at 5:40 am Wednesday, December 11. Upon investigation, officers found .45 caliber shell casings beside a picnic table in the back yard of 8774 Church Street.
26 Bullet holes were found in a privacy fence nearby and officers discovered 15 bullet holes in a neighbor’s home and 10 bullet holes in a 2008 Volvo parked near the home.
Joseph Herbert Bentley Jr., age 58 of Keysville, was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and with felony vandalism in the damage to the Volvo.
