SHOOTING STEMMED FROM DOMESTIC ALTERCATION

On February 11, 2014 at approximately 7:26 pm Officers responded to a report of a subject being shot in a parking lot behind Sunchase Apartments located in the Town of Farmville.
Officers were able to determine that the shooting stemmed from a domestic altercation between a father and son. The investigation revealed that the father shot the son with a taser during the argument. The son then shot his father with a handgun. The father was transported to Southside Community Hospital and later transferred to the VCU Medical Center, where he is being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. At this time no charges have been placed, however the investigation is continuing.
The Sunchase Apartment Complex is used for off-campus housing for Longwood University, however none of the people involved in this incident are affiliated with Longwood.
