CHARLOTTE COUNTY – Charlotte County Sheriff Thomas D. Jones was recently recognized for his work and service to Charlotte County and Virginia during the September service for the Central Virginia Criminal Justice Academy graduation of Basic Jail 99.
During the event, guest speaker Dr. Scott Garrett, Delegate of the 23rd House District, took the opportunity to present Sheriff Jones with a United States Flag from Senator Robert Hurt, which had been flown at the State Capital Building in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Garrett expressed that it was in recognition of Sheriff Jones becoming the longest serving active Sheriff in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Sheriff Jones was given the flag in appreciation of his over thirty years of service and congratulations on becoming the senior Sheriff in Virginia.
