Commonwealth’s Attorney Robert Clement said that the defendant had moved to Norfolk where he was convicted on June 9, 2014 of one count of Indecent Liberties With a Child who was nine years old.  Green was sentenced in Norfolk to five years with three years suspended.

Clement said he was contacted by the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office in the hope that a more significant sentence could be obtained in Lunenburg County.  Clement said he was told that Norfolk felt forced to enter into a plea agreement with a lesser penalty than they desired due to the risk involved in such cases with young children.

Green was convicted in Lunenburg on January 21, 2003 of Distribution of Cocaine and received a sentence of 20 years with all suspended except five years.  One condition of the suspended sentence was that he be of good behavior for 15 years.
