Family members reported 53-year-old mother being gone late Saturday

VICTORIA – Family members and local police officers continue the search for a Victoria woman who disappeared from her home on Saturday, January 2, 2016.

P--Search for missing Victoria womanKathleen Williams was last seen around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday when her husband left their home on 10th Street in Victoria and went to a local store. When he returned from the shopping trip around 4:00 p.m. he came in the home and realized that she was not there.

According to information from the family, her pocketbook and wallet, along with other items that she would normally carry, were still at the home location.  Their son, who has special needs, was also at the house and Kathleen has never left him alone in the past, making the disappearance even stranger.

The family informed the Victoria Police Department about her being missing later on Saturday after initially trying to locate her. Victoria Police Chief Keith Phillips said that his department and all of the officers have been searching the area, talking with neighbors and have also put her into the National Missing Persons Registry.

Additionally, family members in other locations have been contacted and to this point, there have been no clues or information about this disappearance.

With frigid temperatures hitting the area late Sunday and into Monday, Chief Phillips, Officers Medlin and Bruneau, along with family members, walked the trails leading in the Nutbush direction and all the way toward Route 635 in the Kenbridge direction. Saturday was also the final day of deer hunting season and hunters in the areas where she could possibly have walked were also spoken with by police officers to see if they had noticed anything.

Williams’ son, Forrest Williams, stated, “We just don’t know what happened and hope that she can be found or someone may have information that could help us find her.” He also noted that she was a smoker and her cigarettes and lighter were still at the home.

He continued on to note that she had no money with her at the time and the family vehicle was not home so she could not have driven from the home. There have been no transactions from the bank accounts and no signs of where she could have gone or how she went.

Chief Phillips says that they are continuing the investigation and search, but at this point there have been no signs or leads as to what happened. Anyone who can offer any information or may have seen Mrs. Williams is asked to call Crime Solvers at 434-321-3100.

She is described as a 5’5 white female, age 53 weighing approximately 150-160 pounds. She has hazel eyes and curly auburn colored hair.
