rebel-sporting-goods-break-inThe Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department and the AFT are investigating the breaking and entering of Rebel Sporting Goods in Keysville.

According to the Sheriff’s department, officers responded to an alarm at the store around 2:37 a.m. on November 2. Upon arriving officers found that someone had gained entrance into the building.

The front window of the store was broken the week before but it was found that no one had entered the business. Owners of the store had placed plyboard over the broken window and this is where entry was gained.

The Sheriff’s department is reporting that 21 weapons, mostly handguns, were stolen from the store.

A surveillance camera was able to capture three individuals during the crime.

According to the Sheriff’s department, they are unable to tell the gender or race of those involved in the breaking and entering and the ATF is now studying the surveillance video.

The Sheriff’s department is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the breaking and entering. Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call the Charlotte County Sheriff’s department at 434-542-5141.
