Randolph-Henry Runners Do Well At First Meet

The Randolph-Henry Runnin’ Statesmen started off their 2013 Cross Country season with a home meet on August 28 against Goochland, Cumberland, and Amelia. It was an important meet for all teams due to the high level of competition, course difficulty, and uncomfortable weather. All teams did an outstanding job.

The R-H boy’s team finished a solid 2nd behind perennial James River District power Goochland and were led by Bryan Franklin (3rd overall), Keifer Pennington (5th overall) and Bradford Webb (15th overall). Christopher Nichols and Cage Dix were just out of the top 15 and both ran solid races.

The R-H girl’s team finished 3rd and were led by Megan Garrett (6th overall). Newcomers Meredith Feinman (11th overall) and Couper Webb (14th overall) also had great races.

The Runnin’ Statesmen traveled to Cumberland this week and hopefully continued to improve their standing within the James River District.
