R-HHS Girls Varsity Tennis Team Finish Perfect in Regular Season

CHARLOTTE C.H. – Friday, May 3, the Lady Statesmen Tennis Team hosted Bruton High School of Williamsburg, VA.  The evening commenced with recognition of Senior Co-Captain McKenzie Sharpe, who has been a ranked player for all 4 years of her tenure with the team.  Her dedication and skills will be missed next year.  She will attend Jefferson College in the fall.

The match was the first time in school history the two teams have met during the regular season.   The Lady Statemen played well enough to win the day with an impressive six singles match victories.   They finished 8-1 dropping only one match in doubles.   With Friday’s win the Statesmen finish the regular season 14-0, coasting to number 1 in the James River District!   The Lady Statesmen have earned a home match advantage in the regional opener which will occur the week of May 20^th.
