R-H Runnin’ Statesmen Face Off Against Trio of JRD Foes

CUMBERLAND – The R-H Runnin’ Statesmen traveled to Cumberland on August 31 to compete in the Cumberland 60 West Challenge against Cumberland, Amelia, and Goochland. The weather was extremely hot and so was the competition, with some of the best runners in the James River District racing.

The Boy’s team finished a close third behind Cumberland and Goochland and were led by Chris Nichols (5th), Nasheim Pettus (6th), and Michael Nichols (11th). The Girl’s team finished second behind a dominant Goochland team and were led by Alena Latysheva (9th).

Both teams are improving on a day-to-day basis and should be in contention for top spots when the postseason races roll around in October. Coaches Williams and Schwartz are very happy with the progress that all the runners are making.

Randolph-Henry will host their next meet on September 7 against Cumberland, Bluestone, and Nottoway. Come out and support The Runnin’ Statesmen!!!
