R-H Ladies Get First Win on the Hardwood

CHARLOTTE COURT HOUSE – The Randolph-Henry Girls basketball team recently picked up their first win of the season in a victory over Central. The team continues to work and improve while trying to turn around a 1-6 record so far this season.

The Lady Statesmen participated in the Cumberland Holiday Tournament on December 15-16 where they took on Cumberland in the first game. The Dukes got the win by a 45-30 score. Leading scorer for R-H was Morgan Spencer with 22 points while Tajalin Arvin-Watson had six points and Tori Washington added two points.

The team had a tough second night opponent in the tournament as they had to play the Altavista Colonels. The score would go the way of the Colonels as R-H fell 57-21. The leading scorer for R-H was again Morgan Spencer with 10 points while Macie Fannon had five points,  Carletta Anderson had three points, Tyra Randolph had two points and, and Alexis Wilmoth added one point.

The Lady Statesmen got their first win of the year on December 19 when they hosted Central and came away with a 36-29 victory. The leading scorer for R-H was Anisha Marable who finished with 11 points.  Tajalin Arvin-Watson had a big night with nine points while Tori Washington added eight points to the offense. Rounding out the scoring was Morgan Spencer with four points, along with Ty Banks and Alexis Wilmoth who each had two points.
