R-H Golf Team Nabs Second In 2A State Championship

The Randolph-Henry High School golf team competed in the VHSL 2A state championship on Monday and Tuesday at Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Harrisonburg. The team placed second out of four teams with a two-day total of 624. Giles High School placed first overall with a two-day total of 611.  After the first day, Randolph-Henry was led by Matthew Myers with a 78, Eli Moore with a 78, Gunnar Lacks with a 78, and Evan Mason with an 82. Following the second day, RH was led by Matthew Myers with a 76, George Sandridge with a 76, Gunnar Lacks with a 78, and Evan Mason with a 78.

“It is incredibly gratifying to see our team compete so well at such a high level.  This experience, the pressure and their perseverance will serve each team member well moving forward.  James River District Champions, Conference 34 Champions, 2A East Champions and 2A State Runner Up; we are extremely proud of our team members, coaches and supporters.” said Randolph-Henry AD Chris Holt.
