FARMVILLE – Prince Edward County Eagles Varsity Softball team got a big win over Goochland last week behind strong pitching from Jaden Capati and a huge fifth inning. The Lady Eagles secured a 5-2 James River District win as Capati pitched the entire game while allowing only two runs and striking out four batters.
After falling behind 1-0, PE got hits from Edmonds, Capati and TAsia Beasley to kick off the fifth inning. All three players would score along with Harris and Morris to put the Lady Eagles ahead for good.
The PE defense was strong throughout the game with no errors, while putting together nine hits on offense. Capati and Beasley each had two hits to pace the Lady Eagles scoring efforts.
