pe-jv-1PRINCE EDWARD – The Prince Edward Eagles JV Football team remained unbeaten last week with a convincing 44-8 victory over Nottoway. The Eagles scored from everywhere on the field including kick returns to run away from the Cougars.

The scoring started early as Rahme Marshall picked up good blocking and raced in for a touchdown following a blocked punt. The two point conversion failed and PE led 6-0.

Ty’Quarius Foster put another score on the board for PE in the first quarter when he broke free down the left sideline for a 60 yard touchdown run and a 12-0 Eagles lead.

Nottoway answered back on their next series behind the passing game. Three straight completions got the ball deep in PE territory and ended with a Cougars score. They added the two point conversion and closed the score to 12-8.

That was as close as the game would get. PE used a 99 yard kick return by Marshall to add another quick touchdown. Aaron Carter picked off a Nottoway pass and Marshall added a 45 yard touchdown pass to his totals.

Carter would pick off another Nottoway pass late in the second quarter and Jarrel Robinson raced in from 30 yards away to give PE a 36-8 lead at halftime.

PE took it easy on the Cougars in the second half but did see Carter get his third interception of the game as they cruised to a 44-8 victory.

The Eagles have a showdown of unbeaten teams when they travel to Central of Lunenburg on Thursday night.
