Mrs. Phyllis Victoria YanceyPhyllis Victoria Yancey, 72, of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA.

Mrs. Yancey was born in Red Oak, VA November 2, 1941 to the late Callie Mae and William (Taft) Haskins. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA , later she moved to Newark, NJ, where she resided for 25 years. Upon returning to Virginia, she opened and operated The Blue Collar Café in Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Yancey was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Edward Yancey and a son, Russell Edward Yancey.

Cherishing her memories are one son, Rodney Eric Yancey (Senora) of Buffalo Junction, VA; one daughter, Marion A. Yancey of Buffalo Junction, VA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Haskins (Portia) of Annandale, VA and William Haskins, Jr. of Arlington, VA; one sister, Priscilla Haskins of Falls Church, VA; one brother-in-law, James Grafton Yancey; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Phyllis Victoria Yancey will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 9, 2014 at St. Mark Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. James W. Lester, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
