The month of February is Reading Month at Phenix Elementary School. The theme is “Snuggle Up With a Good Book.” To kick off the month, the school had an assembly. The fourth and fifth graders entertained the student body with poems about reading and a play called “Petunia” based on the children’s book by Roger Duvoisin. In the library, Mrs. Watkins had buddy reading. Children from upper grades were paired with students from younger grades to read to each other. Look for more reading activities going on at Phenix this month. And remember, “The more you read the better reader you will be!”
