After more than a year’s work, the Town of Crewe VFW Post 50 and the local VFW Posts 7819 and 5313 have finally achieved their goal. After a long dedicated effort the members of the town’s VFW Posts have finally dedicated the Town Park in Crewe to the Service members that have served and do serve their nation as members of the armed forces. In a touching dedication ceremony, the speakers one by one took turns to express their gratitude, and to share a bit of the honor and pride that they felt when they remembered. Greg Eanes, a member of the military himself, with a long and honored career serving our nation and also an employee of the Crewe- Burkeville Journal, spoke along with many other distinguished citizens about the benefits of finally having the Park named to honor them all.
