Victoria Set to Host Weekend of Christmas Events

VICTORIA – Following a hugely successful event this past Saturday in Victoria, town officials are now turning their attention to the holidays.

Victoria Mayor Carol Watson said last week that the town would be hosting the Lunenburg County Christmas Parade this year and would also be having their annual Small Town Christmas event as well.

Last year there was no Lunenburg Christmas Parade. The local Chamber of Commerce had been organizing the event each year, but the group decided to eliminate that event from their calendar because of volunteer issues. Kenbridge was set to be the host town last year, but the town indicated that the event takes months to organize and they did not have time to get everything together in order to hold an event last year.

Now the parade shifts back to Victoria and Mayor Watson noted that the parade would also shift back to a traditional Friday night event. It will take place on Friday, December 11, and will be used as a tie-in to the Small Town Christmas celebration.

Small Town Christmas will take place on Saturday, December 12, which will give Victoria a weekend full of holiday activities.
