P.E. Sheriff’s Dept. Receives DMV Grants

The Prince Edward Sheriff‘s Department has been awarded two grants through the Department of Motor Vehicles. The funds are enforcement grants for Speed and Alcohol related costs.

The Selective Enforcement Speed Grant totals $4,154 and will be used to pay overtime related to traffic enforcement.

The Selective Enforcement Alcohol Grant totals $10,220. $6,820 will be used to pay for overtime, $2,900 will be used to purchase five preliminary breath testing devices and $500 will be used to pay for a deputy to attend a Virginia Highway Safety Office approved DUI conference.
